Meet Monty, our school dog. He is a Goldendoodle, which is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Monty is 3 years old but has been spending time with the children at Ashleigh ever since he was a tiny puppy.
Monty loves greeting children who visit Mr Nixon to have their names written in the Gold Book. He also likes helping children who are feeling sad or lonely. Sometimes the children take him for walks across the school field with Mrs Brais or if he’s really lucky, he can visit the chickens on the farm. Although he is half Golden Retriever, Monty does not like playing fetch; he would much rather curl up lazily in his bed and listen to stories.
